Hello! I’m Grayson! I am a woodworker from Michigan, now based in Portland, Oregon. I enjoy doing case work, chairmaking, and turning. While I am still finding my niche, I have particularly enjoyed taking inspiration from other media, bringing video games to the physical world with Borderlands inspired Claptrap and the Hyperion Windsor, and paying homage to music I love with “Cures What Ails Ya”. In my free time, I hope to continue exploring the ways woodworking can be used to honor the world around us.

I have always loved to build things, and was introduced to the skilled trades in high school through the district's homebuilding program. From there I went on to work in residential construction, where I was fortunate enough to have a mentor show me the intricacies of finish carpentry. Of the trades, carpentry called to me the most. So I looked for trade schools in carpentry and woodworking, which is when I found the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute. Now, after spending nine months learning new tools and techniques from instructors and classmates alike, I am eager to put my new skills to the test.
