Based on the Borderlands video games’ de facto mascot “CL4P-TP,” colloquially known as Claptrap, this cabinet makes use of veneer and India ink to imitate the bold color palette and distinctive calligraphic linework that the franchise is known for. This piece is titled in keeping with the in-game introduction card, self referencing the “love to hate” attitude the fanbase takes to the character. Due to the weight of the 3/4'“ plywood and 1/16” veneers, as well as the unusual proportions of the drawers, CLAPTRAP is as inconvenient in real life as he is in-game.
